Fun Facts About Great Strides

There are approximately 70 riders that participate in the programs at Great Strides. These programs include:
  • Riding Therapy: Safe and innovative riding with the goal of improving each rider's balance, mobility, coordination and physical strength as well as confidence and self-esteem. Small farm animals are also used for therapeutic purposes.
  • Summer Camp Programs: Inclusion programs offering therapeutic riding participants and community participants a joint education focusing on riding and stable management skills, arts and crafts, as well as socializing and mainstreaming of the two populations.
  • Inner City Programs: Sesions for inner city youth are offered. These may involve stable management, riding sessions, or simply a day in the country.

Ages of our riders range from 3 years old and up.

There are approximately 50 Volunteers.
